Event Update For 2017-08-02

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

2017-08-02 - Why many people are naively optimistic about climate change:
http://www.npr.org/sections/13.7/2017/08/02/541095519/why-we-are-naively-optimistic-about-climate-change

Quote: "The dead zones spur the growth of oxygen-eating bacteria, making it impossible for fish to survive. Decomposing organic matter generates hydrogen sulfide, a highly poisonous gas that shuts down the nerves regulating breathing, killing in seconds even at low concentrations. Hydrogen sulfide played a key role in the most severe of all mass extinctions in Earth's past, when 97 percent of all life died 252 million years ago."

Note: We don't have any 70 years either. Anybody could drop dead or burn to death by tomorrow. The problem isn't far off into the future; it's rising all around us right now, a tidal wave of death. It's well past Wake-Up-Or-Die O'Clock...

  1. Here in PA, we not only can't drive without having problems, but we can't even keep our TRAINS on the goddamn tracks (which they fail to maintain properly)!

That story about the guy in the water who dunks his head and never resurfaces was weird - why didn't he succumb before he dunked his head, when another guy NEAR a canal keeled over without even getting wet? I get the water-soluble part, but why is the head so critical when your skin is porous? Shouldn't he have absorbed that H2S through his skin?

The other great story today was the LOGJAM fire IN A RIVER! How the hell does THAT work? The logs are FLOATING ON WATER! What's to "catch fire"?

Top EPA official resigns over direction of agency under Trump – “The truth is there is NO war on coal, there is NO economic crisis caused by environmental protection, and climate change IS caused by man’s activities”
    http://www.desdemonadespair.net/2017/08/top-epa-official-resigns-over-direction.html

Elizabeth "Betsy" Southerland ended her 30-year run at the agency with a scathing exit letter in which she claimed that “the environmental field is suffering from the temporary triumph of myth over truth.” She last worked as the director of science and technology in the Office of Water.

“The truth is there is NO war on coal, there is NO economic crisis caused by environmental protection, and climate change IS caused by man’s activities,” Southerland wrote, directly rejecting many of Trump’s claims.

Southerland said that since EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt took over the agency, dozens of regulations designed to protect the environment had been repealed, and Trump’s proposed budget cuts to the agency would devastate its ability to enforce existing protections and create new ones. [more]

Discovering The Limits Of Hyperbolic Bullshit
    http://ponziworld.blogspot.com/2017/08/discovering-limits-of-hyperbolic.html

Donny Trump has taken hyperbolic bullshit to level '11' as his words and deeds have gone in opposite direction. Nevertheless, fake-believe in the recovery and the casino remains pinned at record highs. Recall, back in 2011, it was the debt ceiling that caused the wheels to come off the bus, and now the debt ceiling is an issue again at the end of September. September is also when the Fed is expected to announce details around tapering the balance sheet.

All of which means that the U.S. is the global weak link. But don't take my word for it

The U.S. Dollar Is Weakest in 32 Years

So while Trump is blowing smoke up everyone's ass while approaching another debt ceiling crisis, the Fed is doing their part to engineer recession via Quantitative Tightening

Prechter is right, I hate to admit it. This isn't actually about Trump. Nevertheless I enjoy railing against his buffoonish false bravado, because he is the ultimate manifestation of the global sociopathic behaviour that is leading us into the abyss. He is level '11' on the dumbfuck Richter scale, whereas all other leaders are calmly judging him from the comforts of level 10. The real problem in all of this is the mindless Borg, 100% confident in believing the exact opposite of the truth.  [more]

[more]

  9. Actually, H2S doesn't absorb easily through the skin. But if you get it in your eyes or ears or nose or mouth then I think that's what affects you, or at least really seriously affects you. So that's probably what's killing people in the water. And some of these people dying in the water must be getting knocked unconscious or dying virtually instantly. If someone holds their breath and jumps in the water, then how is it that they don't resurface? The ONLY way that can happen - given that they've just taken a big breath, which provides buoyancy - is if they immediately exhale that breath after they enter the water and then inhale water. A person would only do that if they'd been rendered unconscious or dead before they surface even once - which means that at least sometimes people are being affected nigh-instantly after entering the water.

As for the people dying NEAR bodies of water, I think they're either inhaling it in gas form - and the smell might be masked by other nearby odors, or they never get a chance to talk about what they smelled because they're dead, or at higher concentrations it may not even smell that terrible, like flowers or licorice or something - not incredibly alarming.

The gas may also have accumulated in areas where there is water, e.g. low-lying areas, then adsorbed onto matter in the area. Then if you sit in the grass and touch the grass then rub your eyes, or eat some food with contaminated hands...that sort of thing.

And finally, there's also the delayed-reaction ability, where you get poisoned, but don't drop dead for minutes, hours or even a few days later. That adds to the appearance of randomness in the dying and makes it more sneaky and insidious (and also easier for 'the authorities' to keep secret).
